Ingredients:

• 2 level tablespoons fine ground oatmeal (e.g. Creamoata)
• 1 scoop follow-on formula powder*
• 100 ml water
• 1 mini-size ripe banana (about 12 cm long) or ½ a small banana

Method:

Microwave method:

Cook time for 800 watt oven.
Put oatmeal and follow-on powder in an oven-glass bowl (about 1 litre capacity, or 8 cm deep as porridge bubbles up during cooking).

Using a fork, whisk in water until blended. Add peeled, sliced banana.
Microwave for 1 minute. Whisk well. Microwave another 1 minute.

Beat well with the fork to evenly mash the banana through the porridge.

Cool to serving temperature. Thin if necessary with a little formula or water to the right consistency for baby.

Please note* This recipe has been tested using Follow-On Formula

Oats for porridge

Cooked oatmeal and rolled oats are both suitable for baby porridge from 6 months. Flaked oats (e.g. Milk Oaties™) cook to a slightly softer, creamier consistency than ordinary rolled oats, but if well cooked either will do. Do not use wholegrain oats as these are too coarse for babies.
