Courgette/zucchini purée
Courgette needs to be quite well cooked for purée – probably a little longer than you would for adult tastes. If courgette is crisp-tender the skin does not purée as well. Suitable first food – around 6 months

Ingredients:
• 1 small courgette/zucchini • Water
Method:
Wash and wipe courgette with a paper towel. Trim off ends.
Saucepan method: Leave courgette whole or halve it. Steam until soft – 12 minutes or a little longer.
Microwave method: Cook time for 800 watt oven Cut courgette into even-sized chunks and place in a small microwave dish with 3 tablespoons water. Cover and microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.
Both methods: Allow to cool slightly.
Drain, reserving the liquid. Purée using a hand-held stick blender.
