Tara’s toddler bread pudding

A great way to use leftover bread.

Ingredients:

• 225 grams bread (approx 12 slices toast bread) white or brown, crusts removed
• 275 ml prepared Toddler Milk*
• 50 grams butter, melted
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1 egg, beaten
• ½ teaspoon nutmeg
• ½ cup sultanas (or other dried fruit)

Method:

Preheat oven to 180°C. Butter a 1.2 to 1.5 litre baking dish.

Tear the bread into bite-size pieces and place in a bowl. Pour over the Toddler milk, mix well and leave for at least 20 minutes so the bread is soaked in the milk.

Add melted butter, sugar, beaten egg, nutmeg, and sultanas. Mix ingredients together.

Spread the mixture in the baking dish.

Bake at 180°C for about 1 hour.

Serve hot, warm or cold. Lovely with pouring custard or yoghurt.
