A first time mum

Written on 18/12/2008 14:10:39 by Suzanna

As a first time mum I was getting a bit worried when at 5 and a half months old my daughter wasn’t rolling over, however instead she would crawl backwards lifting up her bottom and pushing herself back. I heard a cry and when I had turned around she had banged her head which was a common occurrence so I had to keep an eye on her. Emma did eventually roll over though not very often she prefers to push herself backwards to get around. My worry subsided after talking to other mums who had the same issues.
My gorgeous girl Emma also loves animals, if no one else can make her smile or giggle my two cats surely can, every time they walk past her she would reach out her little hand and coo or giggle at them. It’s a laugh I’ve never heard before special just for the cats. I also did hear her laugh like that at a dog. I’m guessing she is an animal lover like me.
Now she is 7 and half months, she has grown so much already I can’t believe it. A social butterfly is my Emma, always talking and cooing to everyone, loves daycare. She has just started sitting up by herself and loves her books. Everyone tells me what a dream baby I have; I don’t hear her moan or cry much at all even when she was a new born, slept through the night from 4 weeks old and still does.
I know I’m the luckiest person in the world to have a gorgeous baby girl called Emma in my life and being a mum is definitely the most rewarding but hardest job I’ve ever done.
