Hi, I would say that you should first research on all the pros and cons and then ask for your midwife/ doc for advice. Decide yourself based on that. But still, keep an open mind about it cos its so unpredictable :-) Either way, I am sure it will be an amazing experience to you and your partner! Congratulations!!!

It's up to what you want. Make sure you're really well informed about the pros and cons of the types of births available to you. But as purple_rabbit said, keep an open mind. I've had 2 great hospital births, but a friend of mind has had 2 great home water births. Either way make sure you are comfortable with the care you're provided with. Good Luck!

I had my baby in a birthing centre. It was awesome there, i had a waterbirth in a big pool, the rooms were nice and homey like, good food and it was nice to have midwives around who knew what to do if anything went wrong. Its like halfway between a hospital birth and a home one.

Hi, i also had a hospital birth and planed on having a drug free water birth. In the end i was going to be induced as my bub was overdue but in the end i didnt have as i started on my own. In the end my labor was so long that i changed my mind and had an epidural so this ment no water birth. I had a healthy baby girl and despite it not going how i had planed it to be it was still amazing. Stick with what you want but at the same time it is a good idea to keep an open mind as things can always change. All the best and hope it all goes well for you :).

Hi. Like you I also wanted to give birth at home and wanted it to be drug free. Because I was a first time mother, my midwife recommended hospital just in case something was needed. My partner and I agreed in the end to have the birth at the hospital but still drug free. In the end, after a night of regular strong contractions I found out that I had an obstructed labor and I end up having a C-section (which means I did end up having drugs). My advise to you is first of all, keep your mind open when it comes to your birth plan, if something that wasn't planned happens you wont feel as stress. I felt very safe and comfortable in the hospital, I was well taken care of. Whether through natural birth or C-section, with drugs or no drugs the most important thing is the wellbeing of both you and your baby - all the rest is less important. All the best for the rest of the pregnancy and parenthood :)
